Challenge

The existing system was functional but not optimized for rapid iteration or modern user expectations. Feature rollouts were delayed due to infrastructure limitations, and there were concerns about long-term performance as traffic and vendor participation increased. They needed a technology partner who could not only improve and maintain the current web and mobile experience but also evolve the platform to meet its growing roadmap demands, without sacrificing stability or performance.

Solution

Motomtech’s Technology Department as a Service provided the end-to-end support Volcanic Retail needed to modernize and grow its marketplace. We took over the technical delivery with a lean, dedicated development team and executed the project in three continuous phases.

Phase 1

Architecture & Development

We redesigned the software architecture to improve scalability and set up a robust DevOps infrastructure for smooth, automated deployments. With that in place, we developed and deployed new web and mobile features aimed at enhancing user experience, shopping flow, and vendor operations. The platform went live under our care with enhanced performance and better operational oversight.

Phase 2

Roadmap Feature Delivery

Motomtech worked hand-in-hand with Volcanic Retail’s leadership to implement new features from their product roadmap. These included buyer-side improvements like personalized search and category browsing, and seller-side enhancements such as inventory tools and performance analytics. Each release was carefully tested, deployed, and optimized to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Phase 3

Maintenance & Enhancement

Once live, our team continued to provide ongoing development and support. We monitored platform health, fixed bugs, and optimized performance across both web and mobile environments. Through continuous collaboration with stakeholders and end users, we adapted the platform to changing needs, ensuring Volcanic Retail remained both stable and competitive.
